This migration requires deployment of the 26.3.0 Codebeamer and Windchill extensions. No Codebeamer or Windchill configuration changes are required when upgrading from release/26.2.1.
Prerequisites #
Before starting the migration, confirm the following:
- You have administrator access to each Codebeamer and Windchill environment that is connected to the tenant.
- You have file-system and restart access for the Codebeamer and Windchill servers.
- You have tenant administrator access at
https://app.iqnect.ai. - You have the 26.3.0 extension artifacts for each connected system.
- You have a maintenance window, because Codebeamer and Windchill must be restarted.
Breaking changes in 26.3.0 #
Quality Dashboards are replaced by IQNECT Projects #
The legacy Quality Dashboards are no longer available in IQNECT 26.3.0, having been replaced by IQNECT Projects that expose project-oriented quality review across multiple systems. It includes project membership management, project search, scheduled updates, resource-shape details, and health, quality, rating, and suspicion calculations.
Migration order #
Perform the migration in the following order for each connected environment:
- Deploy the 26.3.0 Codebeamer extension to each Codebeamer environment and restart Codebeamer.
- Deploy the 26.3.0 Windchill extension to each Windchill environment, then restart Windchill.
- Update the tenant version to
v26.3.0(orv26.3for a non-patch release). - Validate the widget, indexing, and trace views in every connected system.
Codebeamer server changes #
- Download the IQNECT Codebeamer extension from https://app.iqnect.ai/cb_extension/codebeamer-extension-26.3.0.zip.
- Unzip the file and select the JAR that matches the installed Codebeamer and Java versions. The file is named
iqnect-cb-extension-26.3.0-cb<CB_VERSION>-jdk<JDK_VERSION>.jar. - On the Codebeamer server, open
<INSTALL_DIR>/tomcat/webapps/cb/WEB-INF/lib, whereINSTALL_DIRis the Codebeamer installation directory. - Replace the existing IQNECT Codebeamer extension JAR with the selected 26.3.0 JAR.
- Restart Codebeamer.
Codebeamer configuration changes #
No changes are required to the existing iqnox.iqnect application configuration. Retain the configuration from release/26.2.1, including the IQNECT URLs, OAuth settings, queue settings, client credentials, and tunnel settings.
Windchill server changes #
- Download the IQNECT Windchill extension from https://app.iqnect.ai/wc_extension/iqnect-windchill-extension-26.3.0.zip.
- Unzip the artifact into the Windchill customization root, for example
C:\PTC\customization. - Open a Windchill shell and go to
<WT_HOME>/bin/customizationTools/. - In
customizationTools.properties, setwt.customizationSource.dir.pathto the folder where the artifact was unzipped. - Deploy the package and load the IQNECT preference definitions:ant deploy ant load.data
- Restart Windchill:ant wnc.restart
Windchill configuration changes #
No changes are required to the existing IQNECT preferences under Site Utilities > Preference Management > IQNECT. Retain the preference values from release/26.2.1, including credentials, URLs, queue settings, and any tunnel settings.
IQNECT tenant changes #
Tenant version update #
- Log in to https://app.iqnect.ai.
- Open the tenant to upgrade.
- Go to the
Detailsview and inspect theIQNECT Versionfield. - Click
Edit. - Select
v26.3.0and clickSave.
Validation checklist #
Use the following checks after the migration:
- Confirm that Codebeamer and Windchill are running after the restart.
- In each connected system, confirm that the IQNECT button is visible and functional.
- In Codebeamer, confirm that new and updated non-review items are received by IQNECT for indexing.
- Confirm that review-project items are not shown as incoming traces in Codebeamer trace views.
- In Windchill, confirm that the IQNECT controls load and that a workflow-governed trace operation redirects correctly.
- Confirm that users can sign in through the tenant’s SSO configuration and open IQNECT from a deep link.
- Confirm that the tenant shows IQNECT version
26.3.0. - Confirm that legacy Quality Dashboard links and documented workflows have been retired or updated.
Rollback / failure signals #
Stop and investigate before proceeding if any of the following occurs:
- The IQNECT button is missing after a Codebeamer or Windchill restart.
- Codebeamer cannot obtain an IQNECT token or load the widget bootstrap script.
- New or updated Codebeamer items are not indexed.
- Windchill deployment, preference loading, or restart fails.
- Windchill IQNECT controls do not load after deployment.
- The tenant cannot be set to version
v26.3.0.
If rollback is required, restore the previous Codebeamer JAR and Windchill customization package, restart the affected server, and return the tenant to its previous IQNECT version.
